How to put Calphos to work.

Calphos is built for sustainable agriculture, turf, ornamentals, and natural growing. Use it to correct a phosphorus deficiency, or feed soil life for the long term. The rates below are a starting point. For best results, follow a complete fertility program guided by a regular soil test.

Turf  per 1,000 sq ft
UseRate
Maintenance6 to 12 lbs
Soil correction12 to 24 lbs
Agricultural  broadcast
UseRate
Maintenance250 lbs per acre
Soil correction500 lbs per acre
Blend with fertilizer50 to 200 lbs per acre, or 10% of the total mix
Ornamentals  per 1,000 sq ft

Maintenance8 to 12 lbs
Soil correction18 to 24 lbs

Rates are general guidance for the granular grade. Powder rates are comparable. Confirm with your agronomist and a current soil test before large applications.

Why it handles well

Easy to spread, easy to blend.

  • Granulated for ease of handling, blending, and spreading.
  • Low moisture, so it flows cleanly and resists clumping.
  • Runs through conventional fertilizer equipment.
  • Delivers a combination of available and slow-release phosphorus.
  • Available in two grades: granular and powder.

01

Test your soil

Start with a current soil test. It tells you whether you are maintaining or correcting, which sets your rate.

02

Broadcast or blend

Apply Calphos on its own, or blend it into a complete program at roughly 10 percent of the total mix.

03

Feed the soil

For best results, pair with practices that feed soil life, such as compost, so biology can unlock the reserve over time.
